Тhe occupiers detained 14 people under the building of the occupation court in Simferopol, who came to support Nariman Dzhelial and the Akhmetov brothers during the appeal hearing
Yesterday, the occupiers detained 14 people under the building of the occupation court in Simferopol, who came to support Nariman Dzhelial and the Akhmetov brothers during the appeal hearing. Among them are relatives of political prisoners, public activists, journalists and human rights defenders. 9 people were fingerprinted, DNA samples taken, photographed and given warnings during their detention at the occupation police station. Five of the 14 illegally detained activists, who refused to forced fingerprinting and photo-fixation, were taken to the occupying “Zaliznychnyi district court of Simferopol”, where the occupiers rushed to fabricate “cases”, imposing fines for “administrative offenses”. Thus, Zarema Akhtemova, mother of political prisoner Aziz Akhtemov, was fined 12,000 rubles, activist Rustem Useinov and Nariman’s brother, Ruslan Dzhelial, were fined 15,000 rubles. The reason for this was the alleged “violation” of Article 20.2.2 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses (violation of public order due to the organization of a mass event). Article 4 of this document became the reason for the 5-day arrest of the journalist of “Crimean Solidarity” Kulamet Ibraimov.
The correspondent of “Crimean Solidarity”, the journalist of the Graty media and the Crimean human rights defender Lutfiie Zudiieva also received an unjustified fine – 12,000 rubles.
“Regardless of pressure, fines, or other forms of intimidation, we will continue to objectively tell about how similar criminal cases are fabricated and what “versions” the Russian Federation invents for prosecution. Such work has fundamental importance, because it is for the benefit of the society in Crimea, for the benefit of the people, and despite today’s events and illegal detentions, I look to the future with confidence”, – commented Lutfiie Zudiieva after leaving the session of the occupation court.
Yesterday, the Mission has issued a statement regarding the illegal detention of activists in the occupied Crimea, in which it condemns the absolutely illegal actions of the so-called “law enforcement agencies” under the control of the occupation administration, which have one goal – to intimidate people who defend the rights of the citizens, and also do not keep silent about brutal methods the work of the occupiers with those who not support their “politics”.
Also, yesterday, July 27, the occupation court of Crimea postponed the decision on the appeal against the sentence of the deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelial and the brothers Aziz and Asan Akhtemov and rejected all the requests made by the defense. In connection with the end of the working day, the occupation court postponed the appeal hearing for today.
