Statement of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta on the occasion of the Third Summit of the International Crimean Platform

On the occasion of the Third Summit of the International Crimea Platform, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta reaffirmed its solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Representatives of the Order of Malta firmly believe that only peace can put an end to the tragedy that has unfolded in Ukraine.

Special attention in the statement of the Order of Malta was paid to the humanitarian assistance provided to internally displaced persons and Ukrainian refugees, in particular, in the form of financing, food and medicine, educational services and psychological support. Thus, the Order of Malta has delivered over 6,100 tonnes of humanitarian aid to more than 65 cities in Ukraine.

“Humanitarian assistance must be ensured to all those in need, irrespective of their origin, nationality, political or religious belief, gender and any other consideration,” said the statement.

The Order of Malta also stressed the need to renew the grain deal, as the war has caused significant damage and human suffering not only in Ukraine but also globally. “Ukraine and the world as a whole need peace not as an indefinite perspective but now,” stated the statement.
