On August 23, 2021, the inaugural Summit of the Crimean Platform took place in Kyiv.
It was attended by heads of foreign states and governments, heads of parliaments and international organizations, as well as representatives of civil society – 47 representatives of foreign countries and organizations in total.

The summit demonstrated the unity of the international community around the position that Crimea is Ukraine, condemned the crimes of the Russian Federation in Crimea, and outlined the parameters of the international de-occupation policy.
The summit officially launched the Crimean Platform, a new coordination and consultation format developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
At the Summit, the participants approved a Joint Declaration that outlined the main parameters of international policy towards Crimea.
