On September 11, 2024, Kyiv will host the Fourth Summit of the Crimean Platform, which will bring together leaders of states, international organizations, experts and representatives of civil society to discuss concrete steps to de-occupy and reintegrate Crimea in the context of the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
In 2024, the Summit will pay special attention to the de-occupation and reintegration of the Crimean peninsula as a mandatory element of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, the success of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Black Sea, as well as the human rights situation in occupied Crimea and the importance of releasing civilian hostages.
The Crimean Platform, initiated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, continues to be an important international advisory and coordination tool aimed at de-occupying the Crimean peninsula. The platform’s activities are aimed at improving the effectiveness of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, increasing international pressure on the Kremlin, preventing further human rights violations, and protecting the victims of the occupation regime. It is important to remember that it was the occupation of Crimea that started the Russian invasion of Ukraine 10 years ago, and only with the de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea can the war be over.
