Our country demands that the Russian Federation immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraws its forces from Crimea as well as entirely from within the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine”, Raymonde Gagné, the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Canada.

Raymonde Gagné, the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Canada, reminded that a few months from The Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform will mark 10 years since Russia occupied Crimea and the second year of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

She emphasized that Russia’s illegitimate occupation of Crimea has had a serious negative impact both on the human rights of the local population and the security of the Black Sea region. Raymonde Gagné expressed Canada’s condemnation of Russia’s actions, including the separations and displacements of Ukrainian families and the created threat to global food security.
