Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a videoconference conversation with President of the Senate, Vice President of Liberia, Jewel Howard Taylor

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held the first conversation of this format in the history of Ukrainian-Liberian parliamentary relations with the President of the Senate, Vice President of Liberia, Jewel Howard Taylor. The main topic of discussion was the establishment of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the possibility of establishing friendship groups between the parliaments of Ukraine and Liberia.

A significant part of the conversation was devoted to the Russian aggression and its consequences, which threaten food security not only in Ukraine but also around the world. “Russia is trying to cover up its obvious strategic failure on the battlefield by “successfully” bombing civilian targets far from the front line. Port infrastructure is no exception,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also invited the President of the Senate of Liberia to join the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform, which will be held in late October. “The participation of the Speaker of the Parliament of Liberia will definitely be an important step towards strengthening our bilateral ties,” emphasized the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.
