The Fourth Crimea Platform Summit: Dmytro Lubinets, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights

“Russia conducts massive illegal mobilization, abducts and imprisons civilians, violates Geneva Convention IV, articles of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, articles of the European Convention on Human Rights, customary, international, humanitarian law, the UN Charter and other documents”, Dmytro Lubinets, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights

Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets is convinced that one of the main motives of the aggressor country’s accusations against civilians in Crimea is the organization of mass simultaneous presence in public places, which is why the ban on holding a mourning rally on the Day of Remembrance of the Deportation of Crimean Tatars on May 18, as well as evasion of service in the Russian army, was indicative.

“In order to release all illegally detained persons, the President of Ukraine has developed a Formula for Peace, the fourth point of which is the release of prisoners and deportees. Ukraine has created an international platform for the release of persons illegally detained by the Russian Federation. And on February 26, 2024, its first meeting was held, where 32 countries and 3 international organizations were represented”, Dmytro Lubinets, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

He emphasized that as of the beginning of September, 219 political prisoners were recorded on the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, and at least 40 people needed immediate medical assistance. Dmytro Lubinets appealed to international partners, calling for assistance in the immediate rescue of Ukrainian citizens, including Azamat Eyupov, Volodymyr Gorelikov, Emir-Usein Kuku.
