The Fourth Crimea Platform Summit: the OSCE Chair-in-Office, Ian Borg

“Russia’s war has undermined rules-based international order and weakened the European security architecture our predecessors fought so hard to build,” the OSCE Chair-in-Office, Ian Borg.

In his speech at the Fourth Summit of the Crimea Platform, the OSCE Chair-in-Office, Ian Borg, assured that the OSCE remains a platform for justice based on the principles established by the Helsinki Accords. He emphasized that Russia violates the principle of territorial integrity of states and non-interference in the internal affairs of foreign countries.

“We will not recognize any forced change of the international legal status of Crimea and other temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine,” Ian Borg stated.

The OSCE Chair-in-Office emphasized that the OSCE is firmly committed to achieving, establishing, and maintaining a lasting peace in Ukraine. He added that the OSCE continues to call on Russia to ensure the immediate release of illegally imprisoned civilians and military personnel, as well as to stop prosecuting all those unjustly detained for exercising their right to freedom of speech against the illegal occupation.
