The Fourth Crimea Platform Summit: Robert Rehak, current chairman of the International Religious Freedom and Belief Alliance (IRFBA

“We are on the side of Ukraine because your struggle is our struggle. The struggle for freedom of religion, against tyranny and repression”, — said Robert Rehak, current chairman of the International Religious Freedom and Belief Alliance (IRFBA).

Robert Rehak emphasised that the Crimea Platform Summit symbolises a common commitment to justice and human rights. He testified to the organisation’s commitment to protecting the fundamental right to freedom of religion of all citizens of Ukraine, including Crimea. Only under such a condition can one practice their faith freely and without persecution.

“We live in a world where the truth is distorted, where geopolitical tensions have divided many nations. The voice of peace and justice is often forgotten and unheard”,  — said Robert Rehak. He stressed that the Russian Orthodox Church should be against any war and aggression. It should be the greatest defender of peace, but instead it has become a supporter of evil.

“The Russian Orthodox Church has failed in its sacred duty. As a church, it has become a weapon, a tool of Putin’s propaganda, persecuting priests of other religions: Catholics, Evangelicals, Muslims. This is a betrayal of human dignity and justice”, — said the IRFBA chairman.

He urged not to repeat the mistakes of history. “We cannot allow the Munich scenario when the world powers wanted to give Czechoslovakia to Hitler to appease them. Such people cannot be appeased, they must be opposed”, — said Robert Rehak.

He emphasized that he is truly confident that the war will end one day, and Ukraine will become stronger and freedom of religion and belief will be the basis for the life of new generations.
