The Fourth Crimea Platform Summit: Theodora Gentzis Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium

“In line with the UN Charter, and in order to put an end to the unbearable human suffering and the destruction of infrastructure and cultural heritage, Ukraine is lawfully exercising its right to self-defense.” Theodora Gentzis Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium

The Secretary General noted that by securing its international sea routes in the fight against Russia, Ukraine is ensuring not only its own food security but also that of the international community.

“The foundations upon which our world was built after the Second World War have never seemed so fragile. What is happening in Ukraine is also a war of values, a war against the democratic and European aspirations of the Ukrainian people,” said Theodora Gentzis, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium.

She also emphasized that through its actions, the Russian Federation is undermining the fundamental principles of the international legal order, which is based on rules, as well as the fundamental right of people to live in freedom and peace.
