“Costa Rica supports the policy of non-recognition of the attempt of  annexation of Crimea”, Rodrigo Chavez Robles, President of Costa Rica

The President of Costa Rica began his speech with the words: “We would like to emphasize our strong commitment to continue working with you through the Crimeа Platform to defend Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Costa Rica supports the policy of non-recognition of the attempt of annexation of Crimea.”

Rodrigo Chavez Robles called for justice and liability for the grave violations of  human rights, attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure, deportation and other crimes that have been committed and also ensured that Costa Rica will support Ukrainian efforts to restore its territorial integrity.

“I would like to finish my speech by expressing that Costa Rica constantly admires the resilience and bravery of the Ukrainian people. The efforts you are making to restore your territorial integrity. We support the key principles of the UN Charter. It is a moral duty and obligation to uphold international law and justice”, summarized Rodrigo Chavez Robles, President of Costa Rica.
