Crimea Global 2025: Organizers and Partners
This week, the third annual international conference “Crimea Global: Understanding Ukraine through the South” took place, bringing together around 300 participants from across Ukraine in both offline and online formats. Among them were representatives of government institutions, civil society, expert communities, diplomats, and journalists.
The conference was attended by participants from Argentina, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, India, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, and the Republic of South Africa. Experts, scholars, and journalists from Venezuela, Syria, Tibet, and Chile also joined online.
The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea / Office of the Crimea Platform extends its gratitude to all participants, as well as to its co-organizers and partners: ZMINA Human Rights Center, Human Rights Media Initiative, Ukrainian Institute, PEN Ukraine, Truth Hounds, Media Center “Ukraine,” and Transatlantic Dialogue Center. We additionally express our appreciation to the Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine, the International Renaissance Foundation, the Prague Civil Society Centre, the Norwegian-Swedish Askold and Dir Fund administered by ISAR Ednannia, and UN Women for their support.
We extend our special thanks to the Mission team, which ensured the preparation and implementation of the event.
Our sincere appreciation goes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for its coordination and cooperation. We also thank the Embassy of Ukraine in India, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Thailand, the Embassy of Ukraine in Nigeria, as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine for their support in facilitating this year’s conference.
Gratitude is also extended to representatives of the Lviv City Council and the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration for their support and assistance in organizing the participants’ visits across Ukrainian regions, which enabled them to gain a deeper understanding of the diverse contexts and realities of life in our country during wartime.
Our thanks are further extended to the Ukrainian Council of Defence Industry for presenting conference participants with samples of modern Ukrainian defence industry products.
Thanks to the efforts of PEN Ukraine, ZMINA Human Rights Center, Human Rights Media Initiative and the “Sens” bookstore, an important commemorative evening was held to honor the Ukrainian artists and cultural figures who were killed as a result of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, yet whose presence continues to shape our shared space through their work, achievements and cultural legacy.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our donors, partners, numerous volunteers, and everyone who contributed to organizing this large-scale event. Together, we achieved something truly remarkable. Delegates from participating countries emphasized the conference’s significance and uniqueness, noting that it was organized at the highest level despite the security risks and challenges.
Your contribution is vital for advancing peace, restoring justice, raising international awareness of Ukraine and the consequences of Russia’s aggression, and strengthening long-term cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America to address the global challenges of today’s world.
