“Crimea is the first territory that Russia obtained by force, and I hope that Crimea will become the territory that Ukraine will liberate from the occupiers”, – Gerard Larcher during the Second Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform

The President of the French Senate began his speech with words of support and thanks to Ukraine and the government of the Czech Republic, which was the host of the Second Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform, also emphasizing that Crimea was the first territory of Ukraine that the Russian Federation occupied, and will become the territory that Ukraine must de-occupy:

Russia’s first forcible conquest of Ukrainian territory was Crimea. Which we hope will be the first province to be liberated in the ongoing counteroffensive.

Mr. Gerard Larcher, in his speech, assured that Ukraine will not be left alone and that the number and strength of its partners will increase providing Ukraine with everything it needs to defend itself.

Concluding his speech, the speaker noted that there are always democratic countries and countries that want to take them over, but democracy will be stronger.
