Crimean political prisoner Shykhametov was taken out of the courtroom on a stretcher

Crimean political prisoner Yashar Shykhametov, illegally sentenced to 11 years in prison in the “case of Crimean Muslims”, complained of feeling unwell during the hearing of the court of appeal in vlasikha. Due to serious back problems, he was taken out of the courtroom on a stretcher. This was reported by Yashar Shykhametov’s lawyer.

After being examined by a medical worker, Shykhametov was returned to the courtroom. The doctor said that the Crimean Tatar could allegedly continue to participate in the court session. Before the hearing, the political prisoner complained to his lawyer that he had increased pain in his heart and kidneys. Shykhametov is provided with the necessary medicines, but they do not help.

The russian court of appeal upheld Shykhametov’s illegal sentence. The political prisoner’s lawyers insisted that it was necessary to disclose the witnesses in the case and to recognize their testimony as invalid. The court refused to do so.

As a reminder, on February 17, 2021, illegal mass searches took place in several districts of the occupied Crimea. At the same time, six Crimean Muslim Tatars were illegally detained: Azamat Eyupov, Yashar Shykhametov, Lenur Seidametov, Timur Yalkabov, Ernest Ibragimov and Oleg Fedorov.

The occupation forces found the so-called “banned” literature without fingerprints. Another alleged “proof of Shykhametov’s guilt” was the testimony of the occupation security forces and anonymous witnesses, whose words cannot be confirmed.
