Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Visits the Mission

On May 15, the Permanent Representative held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Ms. Berris Ekinci.

Olha Kuryshko informed Berris Ekinci about the preparations for commemorative events marking the 82nd anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people and also presented an exhibition at the Mission dedicated to the history of the Crimean Tatars and the 1944 deportation. The exhibition features personal belongings, family relics, and archival documents reflecting the scale of the tragedy and the Crimean Tatars’ struggle to return to their homeland.

Back in January 2026, the parties had the opportunity to hold their first working meeting during the Permanent Representative’s visit to Türkiye, where they discussed the situation on the occupied Crimean Peninsula. 

We thank the Turkish side for its consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and personally Ms. Berris Ekinci for visiting the Mission.
