Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Botchorishvili stressed the importance of united international support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity

“We know all too well what it means when a state’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are violated. That is precisely why the united and resolute position of the international community in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is of particular importance to us.”

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Botchorishvili stressed at the Sixth Summit of the International Crimea Platform that the issue of Crimea and Ukraine is of particular importance to Georgia given its own experience of Russian occupation.

She emphasized that violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity have devastating consequences not only for security, but also for individuals, families and society as a whole. For this reason, Georgia attaches particular importance to international solidarity, respect for international law and a united position in support of Ukraine.

Maka Botchorishvili also highlighted the role of the International Crimea Platform in keeping international attention focused on Ukraine and translating shared political commitments into concrete action.

Georgia reaffirmed its support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, as well as for peace efforts grounded in the UN Charter and international law.
