Anadolu University in Türkiye Joins the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies

During her working visit, Permanent Representative Olha Kuryshko met with the Rector of Anadolu University, Yusuf Adıgüzel, to sign a memorandum on the development of Crimean Tatar studies.

This memorandum paves the way for deeper educational and scientific cooperation between Ukraine and Türkiye. It aims to expand academic contacts and support research on contemporary Ukraine, particularly regarding temporarily occupied Crimea. A key focus is the development of Crimean Tatar studies as part of Ukraine’s state policy to preserve the history and culture of Indigenous Peoples and counter Russian disinformation.

Both sides agreed to launch joint educational initiatives, academic exchange programmes, and long-term institutional partnerships. Olha Kuryshko emphasised that developing Crimean Tatar studies is vital for preserving cultural heritage and sharing the truth about the situation in occupied Crimea with the international community.

The Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies is an initiative supported by First Lady Olena Zelenska. It is organised by the Fund of the President of Ukraine for Education, Science and Sports,the Ukrainian Institute, the Mission of the President / Office of the Crimea Platform, and the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
