During the Third Crimea Platform Summit, Akif Chagatai Kilic, Chief Adviser to President of the Republic Türkiye, addressed the matter of the great hardship of the residents of Crimea since Russia illegally occupied the peninsula, still referring to the Crimean Tatars as those who constitute a unique historical and cultural bridge between Türkiye and Ukraine.
“Türkiye is a friend and a strategic partner of Ukraine and has adopted a clear and consistent policy against the occupation of Crimea since 2014,” he said.
He also mentioned the story of the First Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Nariman Dzhelyal, who was detained after attending the First Summit of the Crimea Platform and expressed the hope that he will be returned and reunited with his family as well as all illegally detained Crimean Tatars.
