The UN General Assembly Adopts a Resolution in Support of Ukraine
Yesterday, on February 24, 2025, marking the third year of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution in support of Ukraine.
The document, initiated by Ukraine and supported by 93 states, reaffirms the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country within its internationally recognized borders, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Additionally, it underscores the urgent need for an immediate cessation of aggression and the withdrawal of Russian troops, while also condemning the involvement of North Korean military formations in the war against Ukraine.
“Sometimes, fighting for the truth is not easy. But in the end, it is the truth that shapes history. We appreciate each of the 93 UN member states that supported our resolution, all of its truthful provisions, and its clear aspiration to achieve a just and lasting peace,” said Minister for Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha.
Ukraine expresses its gratitude to its European partners for their active diplomatic efforts that contributed to this outcome. Today’s vote reaffirmed the unity of European states and allies who remain steadfast in upholding international law and the principles of the UN Charter.
