Crossing the line in 2014 might have been the provoking beginning to allowing Russia terrorise the whole world. Paraphrasing what Albanian Prime Minister said to the Russian ambassador at the Security Council, “we’ve seen “a special operation” that is not special, nor an operation, but a direct aggression towards Ukrainian freedom”, states Mr. Etjen Xhafaj, Committee of Foreign Affairs of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania. Over the past decade the war has deteriorated our sensitivity to war, our attention. In a way, war has even become “acceptable”. How can that be? Western democracy and its media are getting “war fatigue”, which is unacceptable.
Albania would like to applaud the heroism of ordinary Ukrainians as they are defending themselves and Europe on all possible frontlines. In order for us to help Ukraine jointly, we have to transfer our words into actions. There is much that we can do all together in favour of Ukraine if we unite.
