“I strongly call on Russia to withdraw its forces immediately, completely and unconditionally from all parts of Ukrainian territory as recognized internationally, including Crimea”, – Banri Kaieda, Vice-Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Diet. 

During the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform, Banri Kaieda noted that the core of the international order rests on the framework of international law, including the UN Charter and respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of other states. 

Banri Kaieda condemned Russia for its aggression, which violated the international order and threatened global security. The Vice Speaker called on Russia to withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine, including Crimea, and emphasized that Japan would continue to help Ukraine together with the international community. Mr. Kaieda noted that Japan provides Ukraine not only with humanitarian aid but also helps with demining, and is actively involved in the development and provision of protection programs for Ukrainian refugees.
