Illegally imprisoned Amet Suleymanov doesn’t receive proper medical care
Since autumn 2023, political prisoner Amet Suleymanov, illegally detained by the occupiers, has not received proper medical care. At the end of August last year, Amet was illegally transferred from Simferopol pre-trial detention center №2 to a prison. It was not known which one. Only on October 11, he was able to report that on September 27 he arrived at the prison № 2 in russian city vladimir “vladimirskiy tsentral” and was in quarantine. All this time, the family did not know where he was being held or what his condition was.
Immediately upon arrival, Suleymanov’s family collected a parcel for Amet. There were medicines, syringes, pills, which were supposed to be enough for two months. But in late November, Lilya Lyumanova received the parcel back. It is important to note that the medicines in the parcel are not even intended for treatment, but only for the maintenance of Amet’s heart, and the inability to deliver these medicines to him threatens his life and health.
For over a month now, Amet Suleymanov’s family has not received any letters from him. Today, the court hearing on Amet’s case was supposed to take place, but it was postponed once again. According to the court secretary, the man was undergoing a medical examination, and therefore the schedule of hearings was changed.
Amet Suleymanov is a Crimean Tatar, illegally convicted in the case of “Crimean Muslims”. Amet Suleymanov suffers from arterial and mitral heart failure, he was recommended to undergo heart valve replacement surgery.
