International Platform for the Release of Civilians Illegally Detained by Russia Launched in Ukraine
On February 26, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy initiated the International Platform for the Release of Civilians Illegally Detained by the Russian Federation as part of the fourth point of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. The purpose of the platform is to join efforts to release civilians illegally detained by Russia.
“Today, no one can say for sure how many of our citizens – children and adults, soldiers and civilians – are being held in Russian captivity, in Russian deportation, in camps and prisons of the terrorist state. But each of us can and must say absolutely clearly and concretely: we must do our best to bring all these people home to Ukraine. And I am happy every time we succeed – when Ukrainians return, when they are greeted here with our flag, on our land by our people. Returning from Putin’s Russia to Ukraine, home, is truly a return from the embrace of death,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the participants of the International Platform for the Release of Civilians Illegally Detained by the Russian Federation.
The President of Ukraine also emphasized that we must do everything possible and impossible to ensure that the point of the Ukrainian Formula for Peace, namely the return of all prisoners and deportees, is implemented.
