“It is in Hungary’s interest to have a sovereign democratic neighbouring state like Ukraine,” – Csaba Hende, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary
In his speech at the plenary session of the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform Csaba Hende, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, expressed his solidarity with Ukraine and Ukrainian people, who became victims of Russian aggression.
Mr. Hende stated that Hungary unequivocally supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and strongly condemns Russia’s military aggression. Also, it does not recognise the results of so-called “referendums” in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and their attempted annexation by Russia.
Csaba Hende confirmed Hungary’s commitment to the European integration of Ukraine, because “Ukraine belongs in Europe”, and underlined the willingness of Hungary to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine and all the necessary assistance to the refugees crossing its border.
“Ukraine and the Ukrainian people can continue to count on the support of Hungary and the Hungarians,” concluded Csaba Hende.
