Crimean political prisoner Kostiantyn Davydenko returns to Ukraine as part of prisoner exchange
On August 24, 2025, Crimean political prisoner Kostiantyn Davydenko returned to Ukraine as part of the 68th prisoner exchange, Ihor Kotelianets, head of the NGO “Association of Relatives of Political Prisoners of the Kremlin,” reported on Facebook.
It should be remembered that Kostiantyn Davydenko was detained by the occupiers in Crimea in 2018 and accused of collecting information that is a state secret with the intention of transferring it to a foreign state. On June 5, 2019, the Russian prosecutor requested 12 years in prison for him, but the so-called “Supreme Court” of Crimea on June 6, 2019, illegally sentenced Konstantin to 10.5 years in a strict regime colony.
On October 15, 2019, the so-called “court of Russia” reduced the sentence to 7 years in a strict regime colony.
As part of the 68th exchange, representatives of the airborne assault, air, and naval forces, as well as soldiers of the TRO, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, and Ukrainian civilians were released.
The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea demands the immediate release of all political prisoners of the Kremlin and increased pressure on the occupying state by imposing tough sanctions on the part of partner countries.
