“Liberated Crimea will turn into a new “Silicon Valley” -Oleksandr Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for IT development
Olexander Bornyakov, Deputy Minister of Digital transformation of Ukraine for IT development, told how the liberated Crimea will turn into a new” Silicon Valley”.
In particular, in the liberated Crimea, there is great potential for the defense Tech industry, which is actively developing today. It is here that technoparks should be created for defense companies. In order for businesses to feel confident in the liberated Crimea, it is planned to provide insurance of business assets for companies that have joined the Diia.City. Special conditions will also be created for IT specialists: Crimea should become a real center of attraction for Digital nomads due to its special migration advantages.
“It is impossible to imagine Crimea without education, which is the basis for the development of the IT sector. Thanks to the creation of special conditions for attracting teachers and students, its own Berkeley or Stanford should appear here. Actually, the world’s technological universities will be invited to launch their own educational programs in Crimea,” Bornyakov said.
With the support of national telecom operators, a broadband channel will be created, national roaming will be launched, and 5G will be introduced.
R&D centers of major technology companies in the world should open in the liberated Crimea. Accelerators and incubators, thousands of startups and infrastructure for the development of new products and services should appear here.
Crimea should get a powerful IT ecosystem, as happened in Kyiv, Lviv and Kharkiv.
