Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Takeshi Iwaya, spoke at the Fifth Summit of the Crimea Platform

“Japan supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea,” Takeshi Iwaya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, who delivered the message on behalf of Ishiba Shigeru, the Prime Minister of Japan.

He stressed that Japan stands firmly with Ukraine against Russia’s aggression and recalled that Tokyo has already announced additional sanctions against Moscow on September 12th.

The speaker emphasized that Japan, together with the international community, will continue its unwavering support for Ukraine, aiming for a ceasefire and a just and lasting peace. At the same time, Japan is committed to supporting Ukraine in other ways — through recovery and reconstruction, through public and private partnerships, and by strengthening the country’s economic situation.
