Negotiations on the Accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the European Union Have Started in Luxembourg Today

“It is very good news that today the European Union is opening accession talks with Ukraine and Moldova. We are on the threshold of an important and transformative moment for these two countries and our Union. And we honor the values and principles that unite us,” said Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.

The intergovernmental conference with Ukraine will start at 15:30 local time and with Moldova at 18:00.

As a reminder, on June 7, the European Commission positively assessed Ukraine’s European integration processes and recommended starting negotiations on accession to the European Union.
