Occupiers Are Building Defensive Structures at the Saky Airfield, ATESH Reports

The military-partisan movement “ATESH” reports that Russian occupiers are actively constructing defensive structures at the Saky Airfield, located near the settlement of Novofedorivka in occupied Crimea. These actions are in response to repeated successful strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine aimed at weakening Russia’s military aviation presence on the peninsula.

The Saky Airfield is strategically significant for Russian military operations. Since 2014, it has been home to the 43rd Separate Naval Assault Aviation Regiment, equipped with Su-24M and Su-30SM aircraft. Russian forces actively utilize these combat aircraft in the ongoing war against Ukraine, making the airfield a critical target for Ukrainian strikes. In the past, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have successfully targeted this facility, destroying equipment and inflicting substantial losses.

The “ATESH” movement highlights that the collected intelligence includes precise information on the number and types of aircraft, the locations of air defense systems, radar installations, equipment, and personnel. All this data has been provided to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for potential use in military operations.

The construction of defensive structures at the Saky Airfield underscores the increasing fear among occupiers of further strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The heightened activity at the facility reflects the occupiers’ acknowledgment of the vulnerability of their military bases on the temporarily occupied territory.
