Russian occupants illegally transferred six Crimean political prisoners from occupied Crimea to Russian Rostov-on-Don
Crimean Tatar activists Abdulmejit Seitumerov, Ametkhan Umerov, Eldar Yakubov, Seidamet Mustafaiev, Remzi Nimetulaiev and Ruslan Asanov were illegally relocated from Crimea to a detention center in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.
Lawyers of the imprisoned activists report that on August 12, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don will begin illegal trials against the activists.
On August 24 last year, at around 4 a.m., Russian security forces broke into the homes of six Crimean Tatars – Abdulmejit Seitumerov, Ametkhan Umerov, Eldar Yakubov, Seidamet Mustafaiev, Remzi Nimetulaiev and Ruslan Asanov. All five men are civic activists and fathers of numerous children, and Seitumerov recently had a newborn child. Abdulmejit is the brother of two political prisoners from Bakhchysarai, Osman and Seitumer Seitumerov, who were illegally detained in March 2020 and sentenced to 17 and 14 years in prison. The men were detained for their active support of illegally imprisoned Crimean political prisoners and their families.
Russians continue to violate human rights, illegally displace and silently deport Ukrainian citizens from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.
