Occupation Forces Abducted 65-Year-Old Dzhafer Abliamitov from His Home in Novooleksiivka

It has become known that on November 19, 2024, occupation forces abducted 65-year-old resident Dzhafer Abliamitov from his home in the temporarily occupied village of Novooleksiivka, Henichesk region. This information was reported by the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Refat Chubarov, on his social media platforms.

According to available information, around noon, two unmarked vehicles arrived at Ablyamitov’s residence. Six armed individuals exited the vehicles, four of whom were dressed in military uniforms and two in black uniforms. The armed individuals forced their way into the house and, after a period of time, left with Dzhafer Abliamitov. They also took some personal belongings packed in a box.

Since the abduction, Ablyamitov’s relatives have had no information about his whereabouts. A report on the disappearance, submitted to the occupation “local police officer,” has yielded no results.

Serious concerns have been raised about Dzhafer Abliamitov’s health, as he suffers from chronic heart conditions. His life is now at risk due to the conditions of illegal detention and the lack of access to medical assistance.

Refat Chubarov appealed to the public for assistance in locating Ablyamitov. He urged people to seek information about him through lawyers and the relatives of political prisoners currently held in detention centers in occupied Simferopol, as well as those located near the checkpoint in Chonhar. Chubarov emphasized that, in previous instances, such actions have facilitated the identification of the whereabouts of abducted individuals.

Furthermore, Chubarov called on citizens who face similar situations to immediately inform the public about the actions of the occupation forces. He highlighted the importance of making each incident public and documenting all details related to the detainment or abduction of individuals. This includes noting who exactly entered the home, how the searches were conducted, and what consequences followed. Chubarov also reminded the public not to sign any documents without the presence of a lawyer.

This incident once again demonstrates the systematic nature of abductions and repressions carried out by occupation forces on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. Such actions constitute a violation of international humanitarian law, specifically the provisions of the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit the forced abduction and deportation of civilians from occupied territories.
