On 6 March, the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation hosted a conference on “Women, Peace and Security: Integrating a Gender Perspective in the Implementation of Politico-Military Commitments and OSCE Activities”

On 6 March, the conference “Women, Peace and Security: Integrating Gender Perspective when fulfilling the OSCE Politico-Military Commitments and Activities” was held in Vienna as part of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation, which is dedicated to discussing norms and mechanisms aimed at enhancing military security and stability in Europe.

Celeste Wallander, Assistant Secretary of Defence for International Security Affairs, spoke in support of Ukraine in her speech at the conference.

“Those who are putting pressure on Ukraine to accept Russia’s illegal attempts to seize its territories should realize what it will mean for Ukrainian citizens living under Russian occupation. They want us to accept Russia’s detention of civic activists such as Iryna Danylovych and Nariman Dzhelial. They want us to ignore the forced demographic changes that Russia is implementing in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

We will not agree with this. We will continue to unite the international community in support of Ukraine and we will never be tired of doing so. We will continue to support Ukraine’s efforts to liberate its sovereign territory within its internationally recognized borders,”  — the Assistant Secretary emphasized, underlining that compromises with Russia are impossible.
