Parliamentary Assembly of NATO Adopted a Resolution on Increasing Support for Ukraine

On November 25, during a session in Montreal, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly adopted a resolution calling on the governments of the Alliance’s member states to enhance their support for Ukraine. The document emphasizes the need to intensify political and practical efforts to enable Ukraine to receive an invitation to NATO and become the 33rd member of the Alliance as soon as possible.

The resolution also includes support for the Peace Formula and the Victory Plan previously presented by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. One of the critical points of this plan is the formal invitation of Ukraine to join the North Atlantic Alliance.

The document further recognizes Ukraine’s right to strike military targets on Russian territory using Western-supplied weapons for self-defense.

Additionally, it calls for developing a new strategic doctrine regarding Russia to be presented at the next NATO Summit. This doctrine should emphasize the Alliance’s ability to counter Moscow through military means and highlight the necessity of expanding the sanction regime to undermine Russia’s capacity to wage aggressive wars.

The resolution underscores the importance of maintaining comprehensive support for Ukraine as a critical factor in combating Russian aggression and stresses the urgency of Ukraine’s swift accession to NATO.
