Permanent Representative Held a Meeting with the Foreign Policy Council  «Ukrainian Prism»

On August 4, Permanent Representative Olha Kuryshko met with the team of non-governmental analytical center Foreign Policy Council «Ukrainian Prism» – Executive Director Hennadii Maksak and Communication Director Olha Chyzhova. Nelia Hrynyshyn, Head of the Crimea Platform Department, also attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on examining Crimea’s experience under Russian occupation as a testing ground for Russia’s hybrid warfare. In particular, the Permanent Representative emphasized the importance of studying the various dimensions of Russia’s cognitive warfare, which Russia conducts not only against Ukraine but also at the international level. Among the key instruments of Russia’s soft power, Olha Kuryshko highlighted the activities of the «Russian Houses», branches of the Russian Orthodox Church, and the systematic promotion of Russian propaganda narratives across the global information space.

Russia employs these instruments to distort history, legitimize its occupation, and systematically promote propaganda narratives. Such activities are an integral component of Russia’s hybrid aggression and pose a serious threat to the sovereignty of democratic states.

For his part, Hennadii Maksak shared his experience in international advocacy on issues related to countering Russian aggression, while Olha Chyzhova outlined key issues on the global agenda, with particular attention to the role of temporarily occupied territories and Russia’s war against Ukraine in international discourse.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties discussed possible areas of cooperation, including research into Russia’s occupation model, developing effective international responses to the challenges posed by Russian occupation, and keeping Crimea on the international agenda.

We thank our partners for the meaningful dialogue and look forward to further fruitful cooperation and joint initiatives!
