Political Prisoner Iryna Danylovych Receives the Stories of Injustice Award 2025

The award was accepted in person by Tetiana Pechonchyk, Chair of the Board of the ZMINA Human Rights Center, as Iryna is currently being held in Women’s Penal Colony No. 7 in Zelenokumsk, Stavropol Krai, Russian Federation.

As a reminder, on 28 December 2022, in the temporarily occupied Crimea, Iryna Danylovych was sentenced to seven years in a general-regime penal colony and fined 50,000 rubles on fabricated charges of allegedly carrying an explosive device. In response to an appeal, the so-called “Supreme Court of Crimea” reduced her prison term by one month to six years and eleven months. The activist has repeatedly reported pressure, torture, and intimidation by officers of the Russian FSB.
