Permanent Representative Holds a Series of Meetings with the Crimean Tatar Community in Türkiye

As part of a working visit, the Permanent Representative visited a dernek — a hub of the Crimean Tatar community — where she met with the organisation’s leadership and community members. The discussions focused on the situation in temporarily occupied Crimea, systematic support for Ukraine, the preservation of Crimean Tatar identity, and further cooperation within joint initiatives and civic activities.

A separate part of the visit included a tour of the Mustafa Dzhemiliev Crimean Tatar Museum. The museum plays an important role in preserving the historical memory, culture, and heritage of the Crimean Tatar people, as well as in passing this legacy on to future generations.

The visit also featured a warm meeting with children from the NGO “Crimean Family” (Qırım Ailesi). Such personal encounters serve as an important reminder of the living connection between Crimea, the diaspora community, and Ukraine.

As part of the visit, the Permanent Representative also laid a wreath at a memorial, honouring the memory and resilience of the Crimean Tatar people and all those who continue the struggle for freedom, dignity, and the right to live in a free Crimea.
