Permanent Representative Participates in the Ukraine–United Kingdom One Hundred Year Partnership Forum

On 16 January, the Ukraine–United Kingdom One Hundred Year Partnership Forum took place in Kyiv. The event marked the anniversary of the signing of the historic Agreement on a One Hundred Year Partnership between the two countries.

Opening remarks were delivered by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha; and the United Kingdom’s, Lord Chancellor, Secretary of State for Justice and Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, making his fifth visit to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

The Forum was also attended by Permanent Representative Olha Kuryshko, her Deputy Denys Chystikov, and the Head of the Service for Supporting the Activities of the Crimea Platform, Nelia Hrynyshyn.

As part of the Forum, panel discussions were held on economic cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, cultural projects, and the development of defence innovations and industrial cooperation between the two states.

It is worth recalling that Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed the Agreement on a One Hundred Year Partnership on 16 January 2025. The document became the first of its kind for Ukraine and represents a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations. It covers all key areas of cooperation — from defence capabilities to countering foreign information manipulation.

The United Kingdom is among the countries that have consistently supported Ukraine in its struggle for independence and territorial integrity, including the de-occupation of the Crimean Peninsula, and has actively participated in the Summits of the Crimea Platform.

In addition, since 2024, a Crimea Room has been operating at the Residence of the British Ambassador to Ukraine. It highlights the historical ties between the United Kingdom and the Crimean Peninsula, in particular during the Crimean War, and underscores the United Kingdom’s support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
