The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium gave a speech at the Fifth Crimea Platform Summit

The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium gave a speech at the Fifth Crimea Platform Summit

“We should not forget that war in Ukraine is our joint endeavor to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which also includes the first region of the country that became a victim of present-day Russian expansionism — Crimea,” Bart De Wever, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium

Bart De Wever reminded that, although the issue of Russia’s occupation of Crimea has been placed on many international agendas, this work remains far from complete. The prosecution of political prisoners in Crimea and the violation of the fundamental human rights of the Crimean Tatar community and its activists continue.

The Prime Minister added that he is proud to attend the Summit of the Crimea Platform to reaffirm Belgium’s fundamental position that Crimea is an undeniable part of Ukraine, as well as to express his respect and support for all the people on the peninsula who courageously stand up for their principles and continue the resistance.
