Ramzi Bekirov Was Visited by his Family in a Russian Prison in Siberia
Citizen journalist Remzi Bekirov was visited by his family — the meeting was held at Colony No. 33 in Abakan, Republic of Khakassia.
To meet with Remzi, the family traveled 5,500 kilometers from Crimea to Siberia. His wife, Khalide Bekirova, said that their daughter Safiie counted the days until she could see her father, and that the three days they spent together were filled with warmth, joy, and paternal care. She also noted that before meeting with their father, the children had to undergo a thorough inspection.
Human rights activist Mumine Saliieva, wife of imprisoned Crimean Tatar journalist Seiran Saliiev, wrote on Facebook that a week before the Bekirov family left for Remzi, she received a letter from the political prisoner: «…Praise be to Allah, I am well. I read books, study surahs, write letters, and communicate with internationals from CIS countries. I have learned a lot of new things. Of course, you compare ideas, thoughts, and morals. Mumine, dad, what we have achieved in Crimea is very cool! Many people envy us and are amazed. Today, it is important for us to preserve ourselves and improve. As they say, full speed ahead.»
We remind you that the Russians arrested Remzi Bekirov on March 27, 2019, in Crimea during mass searches and accused him of involvement in so-called “terrorism.”
