Stephen Doughty Shared Photo with Crimean Tatar Flag in Solidarity with Ukraine

UK Minister for Europe, North America and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty posted a photo on the social media platform X showing himself, Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK Valerii Zaluzhnyi, and Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko holding the Crimean Tatar flag. This symbolic gesture served as an expression of support for Ukraine and its Indigenous people — the Crimean Tatars.

Stephen Doughty noted that during the meeting with Ukrainian diplomats, held to mark the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag, they discussed the Crimean Tatars’ long-standing struggle for recognition of their ethnic identity and their resistance to Russian oppression.

“Our support for Ukraine, their freedom & sovereignty is ironclad”, emphasized UK Minister Stephen Doughty.
