Bulk Carrier Transporting Stolen Ukrainian Grain Arrives in Sevastopol

On February 5, at 12:00 Kyiv time, the bulk carrier KAPITAN MIRONOV entered the Komyshova Bay of Sevastopol and moored at berth No. 210. The vessel delivered 4,200 tons of salt from the Egyptian port El Dekheila to occupied Crimea. Previously, it had departed for Egypt carrying 4,000 tons of wheat unlawfully exported from occupied Berdiansk.

Such voyages, where a vessel transports cargo in both directions, are particularly profitable in the maritime shipping industry. The high economic efficiency of this scheme suggests that this practice may continue, especially if decisive measures are not taken to end it.

The Russian Federation systematically utilizes the ports of occupied Crimea for the illegal export of Ukrainian grain. Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly accused Russia of conducting this illicit activity through Sevastopol and other ports on the peninsula. In response to these violations, Ukraine has already issued arrest warrants for 24 vessels involved in illegally transporting stolen grain.
