Rodrigo Arias Sánchez, President of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica, pointed out the casualties and mass displacement due to attacks on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He noted that Costa Rica has historically been an advocate of peace, so it condemns any act of aggression that endangers global stability and security. Additionally, he addressed the issues of human and environmental impact that the armed conflict has unleashed, emphasizing the impossibility of overlooking the detrimental effects caused.
“We urge the international community to work together to mitigate the negative effects of this situation and to support Ukraine through these difficult times. It’s vital to promote peaceful solutions, respecting Ukraine’s right to international integrity, ensuring human rights and environmental preservation are central pillars of any response”, highlighted Rodrigo Arias Sánchez, President of the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica.
