Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the forum “26-2-14 The War began in Crimea”.

The Permanent Representative expressed her gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and special thanks to those soldiers who were able to join the event in person. Ms. Tasheva also thanked the media partners of the forum, donors who contributed to the organization of the event, politicians, diplomats, international experts and all participants and guests of the forum.

The Permanent Representative noted that this forum was part of the events dedicated to the Day of Resistance to Occupation.

“This is not only an opportunity to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in this struggle, but also an opportunity to highlight the problem again, to unite everyone in the struggle for a free Crimea,” Ms. Tasheva said.

The Permanent Representative addressed everyone in the hall and emphasized that all those present play an important role in the restoration of Ukrainian statehood and in supporting the national idea.

Tamila Tasheva also noted those who are not able to speak today, but whose voices are no less important – our fellow citizens who remained in the occupied Crimea.

“We remember you, we do not forget about you, and we are doing everything possible to make your voice heard,” said the Permanent Representative.
