“The territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine must be restored immediately” – the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis.

“We cannot ignore that 9 years ago, Russia occupied Crimea. Since then, Russia continues a policy of repression and isolation against those who resisted the occupation,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis.

The diplomat noted that Switzerland supports the observance of human rights in the occupied Crimea and condemns all manifestations of repression against Ukrainian citizens living in the occupied Crimea, including the deportation of children to/from the occupied Crimea.

In particular, Ignazio Cassis noted that Ukrainian children spend so-called “vacations” in the occupied Crimea without the opportunity to communicate with their families. Switzerland calls on Russia to comply with international law and return the abducted children to their families.

In addition, the Minister condemned the illegal conscription of Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories into the Russian Armed Forces.
