The Prime Minister of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel addressed “the dark reality” in Crimea and in the other parts of Ukraine occupied by Russia, mentioning forced disappearances, detentions, torture, ill-treatment, intimidation, and incarceration of journalists, lawyers, and human rights defenders. Xavier Bettel emphasized Luxembourg’s condemnation of violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well continuous violations of the UN Charter by Russia.
“We will remain at Ukraine’s side to help it cope with the humanitarian and economic consequences of the war, to meet its important needs in the mining and reconstruction, and to ensure accountability for all international crimes” Xavier Bettel concluded
