As part of the Third Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform in Latvia, the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine held a joint session with the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, and a delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine arrived in Latvia for a working visit, where the Third Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform will open tomorrow.
During the visit, the Chairman met with the Speaker of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, Daiga Mieriņa, and expressed gratitude for the assistance that the Latvian people and government have provided to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

The delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine held a joint session with the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia, during which Ruslan Stefanchuk presented the Victory Plan, with a detailed discussion of each initiative’s points. Representatives of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people and Permanent Representative Tamila Tasheva also participated in the meeting.

He also expressed appreciation for Latvia’s defense assistance, its support in training Ukrainian soldiers, their treatment and rehabilitation, Latvia’s continued efforts in promoting Ukraine’s Peace Formula, its consistent support for Ukraine’s EU membership, and strong backing of Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada called for facilitating permission for Ukraine’s neighboring EU and NATO countries to shoot down enemy missiles that reach Ukraine’s western borders, urged the removal of any restrictions on the provision and use of long-range weapons by Ukraine, called for additional air defense systems, and requested support for Ukraine’s energy sector.
