The upcoming event “How to study Crimea: Evidence, policies, and lessons yet to learn” will take place in Stockholm
On 26 November 2025, the Stockholm School of Economics will host an event dedicated to the role of academic research and international cooperation in fostering a deeper understanding of Crimea — its past, present, and future.
The event is organized by the Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) with the participation of Ukrainian and Swedish experts, diplomats, and scholars. It is held at the initiative of the Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea / Crimea Platform Office and the Global Coalition for Ukrainian Studies, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Sweden.
Location: Stockholm School of Economics

This discussion will serve as a side event to the Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform, which will take place in Sweden in November.
As the issue of Crimea’s de-occupation continues to require global attention, the event will highlight the crucial role of the academic community in shaping an informed, evidence-based perspective. The discussion will focus on the development of Ukrainian studies, with particular emphasis on Crimean Tatar studies. It will engage researchers and students in a dialogue about culture, resilience, and identity.
