At  the beginning of her speech, Annita Demetriou emphasized that Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine and its attempts to annex Ukrainian territory cannot be legitimized or justified. The President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus reaffirmed the support of Ukraine, mentioning the Ukrainian people’s unwavering bravery in defending their homeland.

“We consider President Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula as a good basis to start discussions aimed at ending the war, and we will support Ukraine for restoration and accession negotiations to the European Union,” stated Annita Demetriou.
