“Ukraine’s fate is intertwined with the security of whole Europe.”- Deputy Speaker of Riksdag of the Kingdom of Sweden, Kerstin Lundgren

The Deputy Speaker of Riksdag of the Kingdom of Sweden, Kerstin Lundgren, addressed the participants of the Summit and underscored that such an important meeting is a reminder of cross-border cooperation between countries and an opportunity to promote peace and security among nations.

She stated that the war in Ukraine is a war of aggression and is a violent breach of the UN Charter creation, which we celebrate today.

Ms. Speaker also noted that that is a troubled time for the citizens of the world but also a time of unity and cooperation: in this context, Ukrainian people are truly an inspiration.

She said that the Swedish Parliament “stands united in the support of Ukraine and will support it as long as it takes, and stands determined to defend the people of Ukraine”.

In conclusion, Ms. Speaker added that Sweden had already granted Ukraine 27 billion Swedish crowns, along with advanced weapon systems, and would remain supportive of Ukrainian needs.
