Ukraine’s Independence Day

35 years ago, Ukraine restored its independence. Since then, we have been building, developing, and defending our country, overcoming the challenges that have come our way.

Crimea has always been a part of this story.

In independent Ukraine, Crimea has developed, recovered from decades of soviet repression, and welcomed those returning to their homeland.

Independence is the chance to wake up in your own home, speak your native language, hug your loved ones, raise your children in a free country, preserve your culture, and live in your own country.

Today, we thank each and every one of you who defends Ukraine, offers help, volunteers, works, supports those waiting for their loved ones to return, and continues to keep our country standing.
